Information You Provide

We collect information you voluntarily provide when using HomeGrown:

• Account Information: Email address, password, and optional profile name when you create an account
• Family Profiles: Parent and partner profile information including name, interests, parenting style preferences, and growth areas
• Child Information: Children's names, birthdays, interests, avatars, and optional special needs information to personalize insights
• Usage Data: Chores, rewards, points, adventures, and other content you create within the app
• Photos: Profile pictures you choose to upload for family members
• Recipe Data: Recipes you create, save from meal plans, or import from external URLs, including ingredients and instructions
• Product Preferences: Saved product recommendations and browsing categories for personalized shopping suggestions

Information Collected Automatically

When you use our app, we may automatically collect:

• Device information (device type, operating system)
• App usage analytics
• Push notification tokens (if you enable notifications)
• Notification preferences and role-based notification settings

Subscription Information

When you subscribe to HomeGrown Premium, we collect:

• Subscription status and plan type (monthly or annual)
• Transaction identifiers (we do not store credit card numbers or payment details)
• Subscription start and expiration dates

Payment processing is handled by Apple (App Store) or Google (Play Store). We use RevenueCat as our subscription management platform, which processes subscription events and entitlements on our behalf. RevenueCat's privacy policy is available at revenuecat.com/privacy.

Third-Party Services

If you connect your Google Calendar (Premium feature), we access:

• Your Google account email
• Calendar events from calendars you select
• Ability to create events on your behalf

Product recommendations include links to Amazon.com. We participate in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program. Clicking product links takes you to Amazon's website, which is governed by Amazon's own privacy policy.

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Provide and maintain the HomeGrown app
• Generate personalized AI parenting insights based on your children's ages, interests, and your parenting preferences
• Process and manage chores, rewards, and family activities
• Send push notifications you've opted into (partner activity alerts, weekly tips)
• Process subscription payments through RevenueCat
• Generate personalized product recommendations based on family member ages, interests, and preferences
• Deliver role-based push notifications filtered by your family role (owner, partner, extended family, or caregiver)
• Enable social sharing of milestones, adventures, and achievements through branded image cards
• Improve our app and develop new features
• Respond to customer support requests

AI-Generated Content

HomeGrown uses OpenAI's services to generate personalized parenting insights and adventure ideas. When generating content:

• We send relevant context (children's ages, interests, your preferences) to generate personalized recommendations
• We do not send personally identifiable information like email addresses or full names
• AI-generated content is for informational purposes only and should not replace professional advice
• AI is also used to generate meal plans, recipes, product recommendations, and import recipes from external URLs

Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service Providers: Third parties that help us operate our service (hosting, analytics, payment processing)
• Family Members: If you invite a partner, extended family member, or caregiver to your family, they can view shared family data according to their role-based permissions. Partners have full access, extended family members have limited view and add permissions, and caregivers have view-only access
• Amazon Affiliate Links: Product recommendations include Amazon search links. If you click these links and make a purchase, we may earn an affiliate commission. We do not share your personal information with Amazon
• Legal Requirements: When required by law or to protect our rights

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information, including:

• Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS)
• Secure password hashing
• Access controls and authentication
• AES-256-GCM encryption for uploaded files and documents at rest

However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's Privacy

HomeGrown is designed for parents to manage their children's information. We do not knowingly collect information directly from children under 13. All child-related data is managed by parent accounts.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

• Access and update your account information within the app
• Delete your account and associated data by contacting support
• Disable push notifications through your device settings
• Disconnect third-party services (like Google Calendar) at any time
